Alicia and the Northern Lights

My first introduction to the Northern Lights Suplex was playing the video game WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2010 (featuring ECW). It was one of the grappling moves in the create-a-moveset for my created wrestler at the time. The preview showed the iconic characters Red and Green performing the move and I was instantly hooked. Similar to varieties of the German Suplex and Fisherman's Suplex, the move transitioned into a pin. The Northern Lights Suplex is different. Its very hypnotic to look at.


Like many of the moves in the game, I hadn't seen one in action during a WWE taping. Until I caught Alicia Fox doing one on an episode of RAW. Interestingly enough it wasn't in the male superstars division.

Alicia is a forum favourite and if she were 5-10 years younger, she would probably have been given a main event push by now.

The WWE has gone in a different direction in the last 10 years. Seeing the current state of the company, its shocking once you remember events like The Nexus and Pipebomb were 10 years ago.
